The Radford Network has five different categories. Refer to the Job Catalogue or Participation Guide for detailed information on the levels and guidance on how to match.
Executive |
- Head of business unit or functional area
- Member of executive team
- Participates in the executive incentive plan
- Responsible for entire function or major part of function with focus on strategy and policy development
- Typically has Director-level reports, who in turn have manager-level reports
- Typical title is Vice President and above or its equivalent –examples of equivalent title sare General Manager, Managing Director, Head of Unit, Head of Function

Management |
- Below executive management and responsible for managing people
- Responsible for performance evaluation and pay reviews
- May also be responsible for hire/fire decisions
- Goal achievement is often measured by the performance of their direct reports; in some instances, a manager may be responsible for a functional area and not have people reporting to them
- Employees with manager titles, but without direct reports, should be matched only if they manage the function anticipating future hiring
- Typical titles include Director, Manager, Supervisor

Professional |
- Individual contributor
- Depending on functional area and level, requires advanced decision-making skills
- Generally, requires a university degree or its equivalent in education and experience
- Works independently; typically has flexibility and authority over daily work priorities
- May provide work direction to other employees; lacks authority to discipline or reward

Support |
- Focus is on completing tasks or activities supporting implementation of procedures
- Roles require general education, vocational, and or on-the-job training
- May require decision-making but with limited financial implications to the company
- Never a manager, but may provide direction to other employees with similar duties

Technical/Scientfic |
- Only Life Sciences Research & Development jobs are mapped to this category
- Normally requires a PhD degree in a scientific discipline, with some roles requiring Medical Doctorate (M.D.) or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree
- Technical proficiency, scientific creativity with highly analytical, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving skills
- Works independently; typically has flexibility and authority over daily work priorities
- May contribute to novel research in a science field, or recognized globally for discoveries that address vital concerns
