The Organizational Design tool provides insights allowing users to understand the structural makeup of companies that submit data to the RGCD. The tool’s first “card” displays the “Aggregate Headcount Composition” which is a breakout of organizations by job category. The card shows the overall headcount, then reports each job category, showing the headcount and percentage for each:
The next card displays a "Distribution of Headcount Composition" and gives users the ability to see headcount breakdowns by "Job Level" or by "Job Category". If the user selects Job Level, the tool will display the RGCD organization count and percentage of market distribution for Executive, Management, Professional, Support and Technical roles.
Likewise, if Job Function is chosen, then the organization and percentage market distribution will be broken out by the 32 current Job functions in the database:
The "Market Distribution" bar graph will show the 50th percentile as a small red bar with the percentage listed above it. Please note that the red indicator is NOT related to the user's company, but representative of the entire RGCD data set.
When a user rolls their mouse over the bar graph, the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles are displayed.
On the left-hand side of the page are the tool’s filters, which allow users to filter data five ways:
- Location
- Job Function
- Job Level
- Industry
- Headcount
To select an item, click the "+ Add Filters" under a particular filter.
Users can select multiple choices for each filter. Once the "Back to All" is clicked, the tool will display which items have been selected.
Please note that the current Workforce Metrics program will be retired in early 2024. If you have any questions about this tool or need additional help, please reach out to us by submitting a support ticket by clicking on "Create A Case" under the Help section of the new enhanced network.
